Synopsis

David is worrying that Trexel is going to show up later than usual, when Trexel enters the office. He slept through a seminar on the creative process and is now convinced that playing games is the best way to design planets. The day’s client is Hypnos Soulbiter, who is requesting a planet where everyone can fall asleep. They want inescapably comfortable mattress fields for the mattresses to grow in.

Trexel asks David how to start designing the planet. After David recounts their usual process, Trexel accuses him of murdering his creativity. Trexel decides they are going to design the planet one word at a time. Through this process, they decide on a field of gold and pillows that are hovering above a ground of mattresses, with bells ringing gently for a calming effect. However, they also decide on a dream monster that eats your dreams. David is scared by the idea of the monster and cries.

Expanding on the planet, David describes it as a relaxing place where insomniac people will be threatened to sleep. David becomes paralysed with fear at the thought of the monster, and Trexel ushers them on. To do this, he puts forward another game, the alphabet game, where each sentence starts with a different letter. David starts on the letter O. Through the game, they come up with walls that are made of sleeping candy, so that people will fall asleep after licking them. They will also be feeding the dreams to Hypnos and the planet’s inhabitants will not be offered refunds. I.M.O.G.E.N. detects the creation of a cult, and alerts Security.

Trexel and David play one more game, the game of change, to determine how to grow the ICM (inescapably comfortable mattresses). David lands on the idea of borrowing the mattresses from the trash planet they made the previous day. After this, they submit the brief. Trexel asks David if the change in the design process was a better experience, to which David simply replies that he’s looking forward to the next review. Trexel leaves after handing David more games.

David accesses I.M.O.G.E.N., hoping to relax. I.M.O.G.E.N. releases muscle relaxant gas, and David collapses on the floor.
